Prerequisite: Basic sewing skills.
In this one-day workshop you’ll learn how to “paint” imagery on your fabric using nothing but thread and your sewing machine. Using your fabric like a piece of paper and your machine like a paintbrush you’ll recreate an original sketch or copy a simple illustration from start to finish. You’ll begin with the outline of your piece, add depth with some shading, then finish off your work with any unique stitches you like. By the end of class, you’ll have finished your first ever thread painting and have a whole new world of fiber-friendly creativity to explore.
